DNA origami

Motivations and Aims

As part of my current assignment at the Wyss Institute, I have been working under Shawn Douglas on identifying and developing applications for DNA nanotechnology. While I cannot disclose specific research being carried out in the Church lab, I will develop some of my own ideas that I hope to pursue in the future.
I believe the key advantage of DNA nanotechnology is its inherent bio-compatibility due to the building material being DNA. This is particularly important amidst concerns over the toxicity of inorganic nanotechnology. One of my goals is to examine the use of DNA nanotechnology as an interface between biological entities and electronic systems. I believe the technology could be used to iterate on my bioelectronic interface project I have pursued.

If you are interested to hear more about this idea, please contact me.
